JustNation is dedicated to building broad-based coalitions across racial and economic lines to tackle various racial justice issues. We work on initiatives such as fair school funding, criminal justice reform, affordable housing, fair and just taxation, and gun violence prevention, alongside a variety of federal justice issues. For example, Just Nation is a key part of the 57 Block Coalition, a group of 70 organizations across Philadelphia committed to reducing gun violence. This coalition has successfully advocated for $60 million in city and state funding for gun violence prevention efforts. Additionally, Just Nation is developing the Coalition to Defend Democracy, a response to federal budget cuts impacting Medicaid, SNAP benefits, immigration, and other crucial federal programs. This coalition currently comprises over 20 organizations throughout Philadelphia. We firmly believe that coalition building is essential for achieving racial justice and transforming our communities.
